Wetlands BranchMailing Addresss: 1617 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-1617 Welcome to the Wetlands Branch. The Branch is comprised of three units: 401 & Buffer Permitting UnitThis Unit is responsible for implementing the state waters, wetlands and riparian buffer regulatory programs and assisting with compliance and enforcement procedures. Transportation Permitting UnitThis Unit assists the NC DOT with the planning and permitting of their projects. It also houses two special projects: the Headwater Stream Spatial Dataset program and the Watershed Assessment Team (WAT). Program Development UnitThis Unit develops procedures, policies and rules for the Division's wetland, stream and buffer permitting programs. Stormwater PermittingEffective Aug. 1, 2013 the Stormwater Permitting Program has moved to the N.C. Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Resources.
